Primary Science Kit (PSK) was introduced to tackle some of the challenges faced in the teaching of Science in the primary level. PSK is a 'labless"laboratory kit comprising itmes that can be used to teach science at the primary level thrus encouraging students from the beginning ot take a sustained interest in Science, Engineering and Technology. It can be used to perform over forty (40) experiments and does not require electricity to function.
The PSK designed and produced by NASENI, had three main objectives:
At the pilot stage, we have supplied 20kits per state including FCT making a total of 740 kits. This was paid for by ETF. With over fifty thousand Primary Schools, an enrolment of 20,688,772 and the teachers of 494,846, this is a far cry. The second stage, which is an upgrade stage, it is envisaged that 50% of the Primary Schools will be covered.
