The High-Power Computer Laboratory provides opportunities for engineers and scientists all over the nation to send in (through the web) to the main node their complex works/designs/calculations for processing. The node sends the work to the dual processing clusters for solution and then back to the main node which sends the solution back to the client. Indeed, the HPC is a supercomputer with the task of addressing the need of getting solutions to complex Scientific and Engineering challenges encountered in research institutions as well as the manufacturing sector. With multiples of processors embedded in it, the HPC helps to reduce computing time on simulations, increase the number of possible simulations per day and thus enhance productivity thereby assisting products in getting to the market faster (an advantage in a competitive world).
VML and HPC in other Institutes of NASENI The VML and HPC in the Agency's Headquarters is being replicated in other two Institutes' of NASENI. These are the National Engineering Design Development Institute (NEDDI), Nnewi and the Prototyping Engineering Design Institute (PEDI), Ilesa. |
