Professor Olusegun Adewoye, Directo- General and Chief Executive of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), penultimate week, bagged the Distinguished Fellowship Platinum Award of The Institute of Environmental Accountants.
According to the statement sent by the information officer, Henry Ukwadia, the Registrar and Chief Executive of the institute, Dr. Olusegun Lawal, stated that the institute was stimulating environmental sustainability  through  awards.
He noted that “If we respect and protect our environment, we are only guaranteeing n our own survival, but also building a strong foundation for generations unborn”.
Dr. Lawal, who reiterated that the Institute is a specialized one for the good purpose of promoting professionalism in the environmental policy, also stated that the awardees deserved the award for their numerous contributions.
For Prof. Adewoye, he was said to have achieved great feat both in the academics and in the development of technological advancement in Nigeria.
Others awardees with Prof. Adewoye were the Head of Service of the Federation, Professor Oladapo Afolabi, who bagged the Environment Man of the Year, Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Inde Dikko,  Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Aviation, Ms Anne Nkese Bassey Ene-Ita, Director-General, Environment Standard and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), Dr. Mrs. Ngeri Benebo, Former Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), Senator Emma Azu Agbotu and the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Professor Nicholas Damachi.
It would be recalled that Prof. Adewoye, who is described as erudite scholar, astute administrator, dedicated technocrat, selfless motivator, goal-oriented public servant, Director-General of director-general, and Professor of professors was also recently awarded the Fellow of Science Association of Nigeria (SAN) at the 46th Annual Conference, ZAZZAU 2011, held at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
